Mission Statement

The mission of Fervin Day Center is to provide a front end program for offenders within the community. Fervin will provide exceptionally trained staff members along with volunteers from the community to handle specific needs of the individuals in the program. The day center will provide a positive and safe environment for the offenders whom have been released into the community. Fervin will provide educational seminars, cognitive behavioral groups, and an outreach in the community in terms of employment opportunities for the offenders.

Rationale:

The organization must have a clear mission in order for the employees to adequately carry out their daily tasks. Stojkovic, Klofas, and Kalinich (2015) state, “Ideally, the mission can provide organizational members and constituents a clear understanding of an agency’s purpose, goals, and objectives” (p.36). The understanding of each one of those factors is highly beneficial to the organization in terms of efficiency and administrative overview. It is important to understand that not all organizations have written missions, but each agency does have a specific mission (Stojkovic, Kalinich, Klofas, 2015, p.37). The importance of a clear mission statement can deter problems that may arise over time.
